Issuing Comp Tickets

Method One: Using a Comp Ticket Type

To use this method, you'll need to create a "Comp" ticket type that has "Available on Stations" set to "Box Office" only. This ticket type will need to be attached to every showtime. See the section about Comp ticket types here.

When logged into your site as an administrator, you can issue comp tickets by first finding the showtime on your site. While you are logged in, you will be able to see all ticket types, including ones that are set to "Box Office" only. Add a Comp ticket type for the showtime to your cart.

Next, go to your cart to checkout—be sure choose Cash as the payment method instead of Card.

You'll be able to complete the purchase with either your own information, or more likely the email address of the customer you are issuing the comp tickets to.

Method Two: Promo Codes

Another method for issuing comp tickets is by creating a Promotion that will take 100% off the ticket price at checkout. Once you set up the Promotion, you can either create a specific Promo Code for it, or email randomly generated codes using a Campaign. The customer can then "purchase" the tickets themselves on your website. Read more about Promotions here.
