Creating Rental Pass Offers

Once you have set up VOD Rentals on one or more shows, you will need to create Rental Pass Offers to sell access to them. You can create a single-item Rental Pass Offer or a multi-item Rental Pass Offer.

• Navigate to Rentals > Rental Pass Offers and click Add New
• Enter a title for the rental pass offer, for example "[Movie Name] - Single" or "All Access Pass"
• Optionally fill out a description of the Rental Pass; this will show on the checkout page.
  • We recommend filling the description out for multi-item passes, but not necessarily for single-item passes, since the single item description will automatically populate on the checkout page for this offer (unless there's a special note you'd like to include about the single item).
  • The title, featured image, and availability window of the show will automatically display on the checkout page for a single-item Rental Pass, so you only need to fill these fields out on a single-item Rental Pass Offer if you want to override those values from the show.
• Scroll to Shows and connect the show or shows that viewers will be able to watch when they purchase this Rental Pass. Note: if you are including a Program that contains multiple movies with this offer, you should only attach the Program itself, not each individual movie.
• Scroll to Featured Image and optionally select a featured image for this Rental Pass. It will display on the checkout page. If left blank, for single-item passes, the show's featured image will display.
• Scroll to Pass Details and fill out:
  • Cost: the cost to purchase the Rental Pass
  • Total Quantity: If you need to limit the how many of of this type of Rental Pass can be purchased, enter the limit here. Leave blank if you would like to sell unlimited passes.
  • Hide Purchase Button? If you don't want this Rental Pass Offer to be shown to the public in the Purchase Options box on each connected show, check this box. This option is useful if you're sending a discounted rental pass offer directly to certain groups or sponsors, but it shouldn't be available to the public.
  • Purchase Button Text: If you'd like to override the text on this purchase button enter it here. If left blank:
    • For single-item passes: it will default to the value in the Rentals settings.
    • For multi-item passes: it will default to the pass title.
  • Order Confirmation Text: If you'd like to override the message displayed to customers in the order confirmation, enter it here. If left blank, it will default to the value in the Rentals settings.
• Scroll to the Publish box and expand the Visibility box to optionally set a password for this rental pass offer. This option can be used in conjunction with the "Hide Purchase Button?" checkbox to make an offer only available to those who have the link and password. You can also choose "Private" visibility, which means that only logged-in users (i.e. staff) will see the offer.
• Publish the Rental Pass Offer, visit one of the Shows it's connected to, and ensure it appears (or doesn't appear) as desired.
• Visit the checkout page for the Rental Pass Offer (either by clicking the Purchase button from the show page, or click "View Offer" from the editor), and ensure it appears as desired.
