Setting Up VOD Rentals for a Show
Rentals can be enabled on any Show (Movie, Special Event, or Program). Contact us for questions about pricing and to enable VOD Rentals on your site. Once we've enabled it for you, follow the steps below to set up VOD Rentals on any show.
- Visit a Movie, Special Event, or Program editor, and scroll down to the Rental Details section
- Check the box titled "Enable Rentals?"
- Availability Start and End Dates: This is the time range in which playback can be started by customers. The viewer will have 24 hrs to complete watching the film from the time they press play. This date/time range will be displayed on your site underneath the thumbnail for each Show that has rentals enabled. You can change the format of this date display under Settings > General > Date Format and Time Format.
- View Limit: You may need to limit the number of times any movie can be viewed in total. Multiple plays by a customer using the same rental pass will only count as one view. Leave blank for
- Custom Rental Text: Any message you'd like to display to viewers who have rented this movie. Displays above the player. Common uses for this text are:
- Linking to a third-party audience ballot or survey
- Linking to a donation page
- Linking to a livestream Q&A hosted on a third-party website
- Scroll down to the Video Assets section. Select all the video assets to be included in this rental and drag & drop ensure they are ordered correctly. An intro and/or outro video can also be included here, and will play in the order specified.
