Resending Order Emails

You can resend an Order's confirmation email any time, even to a different email address. First, navigate to the order in your Dashboard, then note the Order Actions panel in the top right of the Order's edit screen.

One of the actions available should be "Email Order Confirmation".

Click this button to reveal a small form with the following controls:

  • Email — This is the email address associated with the Customer. To resend the Order confirmation email to this customer, leave this field alone. But if you'd like to send the Order confirmation email to a different email address, enter that email address here.
    • Note: You can send and resend an Order confirmation email as many times as you'd like, but you can only send it to one email address at a time.
  • Subject — This will be the original email's subject line, which is auto-generated and usually something like "Your Order from [Site name]". Just like with the email field, you can leave this as-is or provide a new subject line.
  • Update customer on file — This checkbox is unchecked by default. If you check it, then when you click the Send button, the Customer's email address will be updated to whatever the value of the Email field is.
    • Example: Let's say a customer entered their email address with a typo, and thus didn't get the Order confirmation email. If you wanted to resend the Order confirmation email to their correct email, then you would enter the correct email address in the Email field, and check this "Update customer on file" option. The Customer's email address will now be updated to use this correct email address.
  • Send — Click this to send the email! If the email was successful, the page should refresh, and you'll see a new event in the "Event History" box on the right side of the screen.
