Creating Shows Manually

Your festival can showcase a combination of movies, special events (such as panels and musical performances), and programs (such as shorts programs or double features). Collectively, Filmbot refers to movies, special events, and programs as "Shows".

In order to enter a Show manually, in your site admin, decide which type of content you need to enter, and then go to one of the following:

• Movies > Add New
• Movies > Special Events > click the "Add New" button
• Movies > Programs > click the "Add New" button

Enter in the following information:

1. Title - Required.
2. Description - Required. Full description of the Show.
3. Synopsis - Optional, will be generated automatically if left blank. Brief description used on listings pages. Ideally about 1 sentence long.
4. Running Time - Required. Total running time in whole minutes only
5. Release Date - Required. Formatted as YYYY-MM-DD
6. Trailer URL - Optional. Youtube or Vimeo URLs only.
7. Type - Required for Movies. Whether the movie is a feature or short. You have the option to exclude individual shorts on some listing pages on your site.
8. Image Gallery - Optional. Additional images in the featured image gallery. We recommend 1800px width for landscape images and 1000px height for poster images.
9. Has Subtitles? - Optional.
10. Original Title - Optional. Useful for entering a foreign language title.
11. Premiere Status - Optional. Enter the scope of this Show's premiere, but do not enter the word "Premiere". Example: "World", "U.S."
12. Program(s) - Optional. If this show is part of a program (such as a shorts program), select the Program here.
13. Featured Image - Required. We recommend 1800px width for landscape images and 1000px height for poster images.
14. Section - Optional. Some festivals choose to organize their content into Sections.
15. Languages - Optional. Language(s) spoken in the film. Comma-separated list.
16. Countries - Optional. Countr(ies) of production. Comma-separated list.
17. Genres - Optional. Comma-separated list.
18. Directors - Optional. Comma-separated list.
19. Cast Members - Optional. Comma-separated list.
20. Precedes - Optional. If this show precedes another show whenever it's shown (such as a short preceding a feature), select the film it precedes here. Note, this is not how to set up a shorts program, for that, use the Program(s) field.
21. Preceded by - Optional. Inverse of the Precedes field; either one can be filled out.
22. Sponsors - Optional. If any sponsors are sponsoring this specific show, connect them here Sponsors need to be added separately before connecting to Shows)

After you publish your Show, you can view the page on the website by clicking View Movie (or View Special Event / View Program) in the admin bar.
